William J. Harrington

Managing Director

Bill is a Director in FGMK’s Risk & Controls Practice. Over the course of his career, he has served clients in the insurance, banking, investment management, and real estate industries.

Bill has experience providing both external and internal audit services. His internal audit experience includes leading engagements for the co-sourcing of internal audits as well as the full outsourcing of the entire function. He has also performed quality assurance reviews of internal audit departments in accordance with the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Bill has extensive experience in assessing and reporting on internal controls, having served as a Sarbanes-Oxley specialist for organizations. He has also delivered SOC reports to clients who function as a service bureau or third-party processing facility and has experience with reporting for organizations that want to provide assurance to their clients regarding the operating effectiveness of their privacy and security controls.

From a Cybersecurity perspective, Bill has led engagements to provide vulnerability assessments as well as attack and penetration engagements for companies who want to better understand their IT security control environment.

Prior to joining FGMK in 2015, Bill was with PwC, where he served clients in the risk assurance practice for over 20 years.
