Howard is a tax partner who focuses on federal and state income tax planning. He specializes in tax accounting issues, including accounting methods and periods; determination, characterization, and timing of income and deductions; like-kind exchange transactions; the alternative minimum tax; and other matters.
Howard also represents clients in tax controversy matters, including federal and state audits. He counsels clients on the tax consequences of mergers and acquisitions and conducts due diligence for these transactions. Howard is a frequent lecturer on various financial accounting and tax law topics and has published articles in national publications. His industry expertise includes manufacturing, distribution, service businesses and real estate.
Howard joined FGMK in 2007 with 24 years of accounting, tax and finance expertise. His background includes serving as a tax manager and principal with Arthur Andersen, as well as treasurer and director of taxes for a publicly traded transportation company and chief financial officer for a software company.
